Domestic abuse and domestic violence is something that has become more and more common in recent society across the United States. Domestic violence refers to any instances where your spouse or partner harms you physically. You could be a victim of domestic abuse if your partner or spouse continuously abuses you emotionally and mentally as well. Domestic abuse refers to events where your spouse is threatening you all of the time and is constantly trying to control your life. Domestic violence is very detrimental to your physical and mental health. You should try to get as far away from your current situation of domestic violence as soon as possible. The following article contains what you should do to survive situations of domestic abuse.

1 – If you are in a heavily dangerous situation of domestic violence you should make plans to abandon your house without anymore delays. If you do not have any friends or family members that you can turn to in this current situation, head towards a crisis shelter or center that is closest to you. There are many help shelters or centers in every state that helps people that are going through situations of domestic abuse and have nowhere to go. There are also national hotlines that you can call in order to find shelters that help people in situations of domestic violence or domestic abuse.

2 – Once you are able to distance yourself from the immediate dangers of the domestic violence and domestic abuse that has been going on in your household you should take cautionary steps to rid yourself of these dangers once and for all. You should begin by cutting yourself from being able to be contacted by the person who is inflicting the domestic abuse upon you. Do so by having your phone number changed. If you are continuously contacted and left threatening voicemails by the person who is inflicting domestic violence upon you and your family, you should make sure you keep these for potential evidence.

3 – Always be prepared to flee a dangerous situation when living in situations of domestic abuse of domestic violence. You never know what situations may arise when living with such volatile people. Make sure to avoid putting yourself in potentially dangerous and harmful situations. Avoid areas where you could get yourself brutally injured from any forms of domestic abuse or domestic violence. If you are living in a house that contains weapons, be sure to avoid those rooms. Even the kitchen should be avoided when in volatile situations. Even once you change locations, have a plan devised in possible emergency situations where you may have to run away. You never know when the abuser will be able to hunt you down again. People who are prone to domestic violence should make it a habit to change their traveling routes from time to time; more often than necessary. This will help you to keep away from domestic abuse by making it difficult for the abuser to find you at a certain place at a certain time.

The amount of people who are suffering from the ultimate poverty of being homeless is increasing rapidly due to the state of the current economy. There are many people who are trying not to become homeless by avoiding the increasing debt and poverty in order to make their ends meet. There are so many homeless people today that have had their homes undergo foreclosure. The whole entire family has the potential of crumbling before being able to get through such a situation of poverty. Following a few tips could help save you from the after effects of a severe recession that causes extreme poverty and an increase in homeless population.

1.	Change the perspective you have about your finances and money in general. If you don’t think about what it is that you want in this situation of poverty you won’t end up spending unnecessary finances. Once you have this mentality it will be impossible for you to end up in a homeless situation. Keeping the mentality that money is something that always comes and goes is also very important. You need to know that you can survive poverty because money is just something to help you; it is not your only salvation. Even being homeless will not have as big of a downpour on your emotions if you keep this mentality.

2.	Try to work as much as possible to make as much money in the little time that you have. Try to find out the best way to plan out the twenty four hours that you have in your day. Avoid poverty by trying to fit in multiple jobs throughout your day. There are many surprising ways to make money that you are probably unaware of. There are even ways to make money while you aren’t physically working or having to do anything the whole time. This could help you avoid becoming homeless by giving you some added income.

3.	Try to get rid of as much debt as you can in order to avoid ending up homeless. People end up in situations of extreme poverty because they do not take care of payments when they are minimal and they end up snowballing into a giant mess that you can’t seem to dig yourself out of. Take on one chunk of debt at a time to get yourself out of your situation of poverty. You don’t want to have such a mess that your home goes under foreclosure and you become homeless. It will be that much harder to dig your way out of poverty if you reach the point of becoming homeless.

Try to always be prepared for the worst no matter what financial situation you are in. If you are currently far from poverty and ending up homeless; be sure to set some emergency money aside so that in any urgent or extreme case where you need money you will be prepared. Calculate your life so that you are paying your current expenses as well as saving up for your future.

Create an emergency fund. Begin by saving a portion of your income (10% is recommended by most financial professionals, but do what you can). The amount you need in an emergency fund is different for everyone. Typically you want to have 3 months to a year of LIVING EXPENSES saved. Do not begin any other investment plans until you have this money saved.

Diversify your income streams. The money you used to pay off your debt with and the money you were paying into that savings account for your emergency fund now becomes your CAPITAL. Capital is that illusive money that will work for you. Use this money, regardless of how small of an amount it seems, to create additional streams of income.

Wherever we go in today’s society, discrimination and prejudice are still very much alive. Though we hate to admit it, discrimination and prejudice still victimizes certain people of certain ethnicities, body types, and social status. One of the major environments where discrimination and prejudice rear their ugly heads is at the workplace, where most people spend a good portion of their days. Many office places today are taking the initiative and requiring employees to attend seminars or meetings educating against discrimination and prejudice. Under state and federal laws, companies are required to establish some form of policy discouraging and disallowing discrimination and prejudice. A few of the most common types of discrimination and prejudice in the office are gender, race, and age.
Gender discrimination can be perhaps one of the most frustrating types of prejudice. Differences in workload and payroll between males and females are not so blatantly obvious in today’s day and age, but discrimination and prejudice of genders most definitely exists in the office nowadays. Some companies may prefer males over females for a certain reason, while other companies may want females working on a certain project rather than males. It is usually the woman who faces more discrimination and prejudice because of history but cases of unfairness towards male workers do exist, albeit rarely.

Discrimination and prejudice against certain races and ethnicities still, unfortunately, do exist in the office work places of America. Though we as a society have come a long way in assimilating as a culture of different cultures and customs, we have not yet reached the end. Race discrimination and prejudice is indeed illegal however companies find loopholes and excuses to justify the discriminatory behavior. Some companies may not even hire a certain race or ethnicity at all. Victims of alleged racial discrimination and prejudice should find an attorney to establish their case and take future action.

There are thousands upon thousands of fresh minds graduating out of college every year, and many companies commit discrimination and prejudice of age, whether they realize it or not. Some of the older employees in the workplace run the risk of being taken over the younger generations, who do not have to be paid as much and can also bring in new ideas and original thoughts. Many companies view college graduates as a source of cheap labor while being a stronger, more motivated work force than the older groups.

Other forms of discrimination and prejudice exist in the office workplace, but gender, race, and age discrimination seems to be the more prevalent ones. Necessary action should be taken against these companies who are freely discriminating against certain groups of people. It is important to realize what rights you have as an employee or prospective employee. If you are unsure of the rights you currently have you should seek out what they are immediately. Being mistreated and undergoing any form of discrimination at any point in your life could potentially be very damaging.

Animal Cruelty

Animal abuse is a problem that goes undetected far too many times every year. Thousands of animals every year are victims to animal abuse and this is a crime that goes unpunished too often. Animals cannot speak for themselves, and so this makes it difficult to bring a case of animal abuse to effectively and efficiently. Many people do not even know how to go about reporting a case of animal abuse. And many people tend not to speak up and stand up for these animals’ rights because they think they have no right to meddle in another person’s business. While this may be a valid point, there is no excuse for letting a defenseless animal be treated like dirt and allowing animal cruelty to exist. We as humans share this earth with animals, and there is absolutely no rational reason for a humane society to engage in such behaviors like animal abuse.

In order to initiate some form of action against animal abuse, contact your local humane society. This humane society will act as a gateway of information you never would have thought existed. Even animals have rights in this great country of ours and animal abuse is a crime punishable by law. Working with the local humane society, you may be able to find relevant information regarding the law and bringing lawsuits against animal abusers. You will also be able to locate the proper authorities who deal with animal cruelty cases within the humane society.

When bringing a case of animal abuse to the courtroom, it is essential that you come prepared with substantial evidence. Because animals cannot represent themselves or speak for themselves, having hard proof to show the jury or the judge is crucial for stating your case and establishing strong and persuasive arguments, especially with the humane society on your side. Perhaps the most powerful piece of evidence you may be able to use in a case against animal abuse is photos. Photos of the abused animal may be difficult to obtain. Try keeping a daily log of notes of the condition of the abused animal. Be sure to note odd behaviors, inflicted wounds, or a limp in the animal. The local humane society you are working with should be able to give more detailed advice on forming these logs, or essentially, eyewitness reports. Again, stay in touch with the local humane society for more pointers and advice of how to bring justice to the animal abuse.

The local humane society will lead you to the right people if you are serious about bringing a lawsuit to court about animal abuse. In fact, there should be authoritative figures that can assist you directly in regards to following regulations and procedures of the courtroom and animal abuse cases. In order to speed up the process of entering into the legal system, however, it is handy to have your logs (eyewitness reports) of the alleged animal abuse ready for the proper authorities. Even after the case is over, it is recommended that you contact the humane society and follow up on the case.

Child Abuse

Child abuse and child neglect cases in the United States are perhaps one of the most misunderstood procedures in our society today. What many people in the public fail to realize is that in order for a child protective service agency to take necessary legal action against cases of child abuse and child neglect, there must be substantial evidence that the child abuse and child neglect is occurring prior to initial investigation by the agency. In other words, for any action to happen against child abuse and child neglect, the damage must be already done. Though this system may seem backwards and puzzling, it is still a matter of importance that must be taken care of properly to protect the children of America. To combat child abuse and child neglect efficiently and effectively, it is essential to compile sufficient and significant evidence to bring to the court of law.

If you suspect any form of child abuse or child neglect may be occurring within your community, start taking notes and eventually form an eyewitness report. While doing so, be sure to always record the date and time of any occurrence that seems suspicious. In order for your records to be useful and establish a strong argument in court, write down hard facts rather than mere opinions. Opinions and speculations do not hold up in court very well, and are often regarded with little importance by the jury or the judge. For example, if you happen to notice a bruise on a child, record significant details such as the size, color, location, and severity of the bruise, and avoid writing down your own thoughts and suppositions as to how the bruise may have formed. Going into specific details will further strengthen your eyewitness report and help your case against child abuse and child neglect.

While investigating a suspicion incident in which you believe child abuse or child neglect is being committed, be sure to record what the parent/guardian says about the occurrence. In the case of a physical injury, write down exactly what the caretaker of the child says about it. And if possible, make a note of what the child says about it as well. If child abuse and/or child neglect is really happening, there will often be discrepancies between witness reports. Take caution while talking to the child however, and look for signs that the child could be lying due to the parent/guardian’s influence.

Once you feel you have enough evidence to present a strong case in court against child abuse and/or child neglect, contact the proper authorities, child protective agencies, and possibly an attorney to begin the legal procedure. Child abuse and child neglect cases deserve the utmost scrutiny, yet too many parents and guardians are getting away unpunished every year. Using the information provided in this article, you can prevent child abuse and/or child neglect, and possibly even save a life in the process.
