What is America Supports You?
America Supports You is a Department of Defense program dedicated to communicating citizens’ support to the men and women serving in our Armed Forces and their families. America Supports You currently lists more than 350 non-profit groups that are devoted to helping our service men and women. These groups provide a multitude of services, including financial assistance, sending care packages and letters, and helping our wounded warriors.
Can I donate funds or items directly to America Supports You?
America Supports You is a Department of Defense program intended to communicate citizens’ support to the men and women serving in our Armed Forces and their families. It is not intended to solicit donations from the American public, and the appearance of hyperlinks or logos does not constitute endorsement by the Department of Defense of linked sites or the information, products, or services contained therein. By visiting America Supports You's Homefront Groups page (www.americasupportsyou.mil/americasupportsyou/help.html), you can find a complete list of homefront groups – broken down into categories based on the type of support they provide for our service men and women.
I am a military member or military dependent. Who should I contact if I need assistance?
If you are a military family member or service member seeking support, be sure to consult your chain of command, family assistance program, and military aid societies (hyperlinks are below) prior to contacting non-federal entities. You are entitled to the military resources, and the aid societies all exist to help service members with emergent needs.

How do I send letters, cards, or e-mails to a troop overseas?
There are many ways to send a note to the troops! While America Supports You cannot give anyone the name or address of a service member stationed overseas due to privacy and security concerns, if you would like to connect with one of the many groups that do mail letters and cards, please click on the link below to see which homefront groups can help!

How do I donate an item or care package to the troops?
The link below provides a list of homefront groups that provide everything from computers, to adaptive clothing for the injured, to scholarships for military children! How do I get my organization linked on the America Supports You site?
In order for your group to be considered for a link on the America Supports You website, you must first submit an application and be able to provide IRS documentation of your non-profit (501c) status. Your application will be considered based on a number of criteria. Click here to download an application form. Please submit a completed application along with documentation of your non-profit status by email to asyhome@osd.mil or by fax to 703-697-2577.
Does America Supports You recommend any organizations, programs, or such that support service members and their families?
The America Supports You website is intended to communicate citizens’ support to the men and women serving in our Armed Forces and their families. The appearance of hyperlinks or logos does not constitute endorsement by the Department of Defense of linked sites or the information, products, or services contained therein. For other than authorized activities such as military exchanges and Morale, Welfare and Recreation sites, the Department of Defense does not exercise any editorial control over the information you may find at these locations. Service members and their families should consult their chain of command, family assistance program, and military aid societies prior to contacting non-federal entities for support.
I am a business that would like to support our service men and women. How do I do that?
Most businesses are encouraged to find and partner with a non-profit organization that shares its same vision of support for our service members. In 2005, Pentagon personnel, wishing to create an event that would commemorate the attack on the Pentagon and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, created what has become a new national tradition, the America Supports You FREEDOM WALK.
